Driver Education

Segment 1

Segment 1 is the first step of a three-part Graduate Licensing Program. A student may start a class at 14 years and 8 months. Segment One consists of 24 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training. Completion of this class will allow the student to obtain a Graduated Driver’s License. The student will need to practice on their Graduated Driver’s License for a minimum of 6 months and complete Segment 2 to be eligible to take the Driving Skills Test.

Birth Certificate is required on your first day of class.

Segment 2

Segment 2 is the second step of a three-part Graduated Licensing Program. This Segment is a classroom only experience. The student must have held their Level One License for a minimum of 3 months and have completed 30 hours of driving (5 of those must be at night). This class is required by the State of Michigan for any student under 18 years of age who wants to take the Driving Skills Test.
